Too much emission of greenhouse gases, which causes the global warming to be a reality and the climate deterioration at an accelerated rate to be far beyond our expectation, seriously threatens the sustainable development of our human society. New energy resources are featured by tremendous potentiality, environmental-friendly, as well as sustainable utilization, and thus they are the important energies for harmonious development of nature and the human society. Confronted with the increasingly unbalanced supply and demand of the traditional energies, and the severe global warming challenge, the countries all over the world would strengthen the exploration and utilization of the new energies and its technologies.

China, as a major energy output and consumption country, is now facing the twin pressures of energy shortage and environmental protection. Therefore, China has no alternative but to exploration and utilization of new energies to realize the sustainable development of the national economy. The Government Work Report delivered by Premier Wen Jiabao at the Fifth Session of the 10th NPC points out that we placed greater emphasis on energy saving, emission of pollutants and environmental protection. The Medium- and Long-Term Energy Development Program issued by the Chinese government expressly states that by 2020, the renewable energy will have accounted for about 16% in the total energy consumption. China’s 11th Five-Year Plan points out that great effort should be made to develop the renewable energy, implement preferential fiscal and taxation policies, investment and the compulsory market share policies to encourage the production and consumption of renewable energy. Therefore, the new energy and renewable energy market has huge potentials, and it provides the unprecedented opportunities to the new energy companies and institutions at home and abroad.

Thus, under this background, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) plans to hold the “2nd China New Energy International Forum” on December 11 and 12 in the Xizhou Garden Hotel in Wuxi City, Jiangsu province. The theme of this forum is “the Change of the Global Climate and the Responsibilities of the New Energy”. Many government officials, Chinese and foreign business moguls, experts and scholars in the new energy sector will attend this forum and hold communications as well as consultations on the focus of the problems in the new energy industry. This forum will build the platform of summit-level exchanges and cooperation in the fields of policy, technology and capital to promote the development of new technology industry and cope with the global climate change. We sincerely hope that you will spare your time to attend this forum.
